With positive pay, Marine Bank receives a list of checks you issue to compare to checks that are presented to us for payment from your account(s). You will receive a report of any mismatched items so that you can review them and decide whether or not they should be paid.
Positive pay is a part of Marine's online banking, so all you need is a computer with a secure Internet connection and a basic data processing or spreadsheet application, such as Microsoft Excel. No special software is required, and we'll provide the quick and easy training you need to get started.
How Positive Pay Works
- Your company transmits to Marine Bank an electronic file of check information prior to distributing physical checks.
- Checks that match your listed check number and amount are paid. Checks that do not match are considered suspect.
- Suspect items are manually examined by Marine Bank. We will correct any encoding errors or misreads.
- Suspect items that cannot be corrected are reported to you via online banking. You advise Marine Bank whether or not to pay suspect items.
We want to keep you safe! Positive pay services are available for just $20 per month, with no additional per-item fees. (Standard deposit fees still apply.)
